Bin Cleaning – Mobilisation, Mrs Jones & Flump

HydroWash-Mrs Jones and Flump

Mrs Jones lives at 3 Rose Water Court in Brighton. She has lived there for over 10 years with her cat Flump. As a retired property manager, she has a keen eye for hygiene and cleanliness. Her flat and small garden are immaculate!

There’s just one problem that disturbs Mrs Jones. Her immaculate flat is adjacent to the bin store. Here, the communal bins are kept and all the residents rubbish is collected. Frequently, during the summer months, Mrs Jones is not able to open her windows or sit in her garden because of the offensive smell of household waste coming from the bin store. Even her beautiful cat Flump refuses to breathe in the offensive odours and can often be seen lying on his back on the sofa in Mrs Jones lounge with a distinctive grimace on his face.

The Housing Association that looks after Mrs Jones property manages over 30,000 flats across all geographies in the UK. They pride themselves in caring for their residents and listening carefully to their concerns. As a responsible landlord, they wanted to implement a programme of Bin & Bin Store cleansing to ALL their properties.

Now there’s a challenge we love! How can we at HydroWash help Mrs Jones and Flump?

Mobilisation

In the first two weeks of January our mobilisation team have received instructions to plan and schedule 2,762 additional Bin & Bin Store cleans across more than 1,000 different sites during 2024! All this new work needs to be added without compromising existing commitments.

What’s involved in planning and scheduling this new work?
1) Communication with our Operations Team to ensure sufficient resources and equipment are on standby
2) Identify when the bins are emptied at every site
3) Optimise the routes to ensure productivity and environmental impact targets are kept on track
4) Schedule the work
5) Publish the schedule to our clients

With many years of experience, our mobilisation team is expert. “Bring it on”, they often say. The more sites and complexity, the more excited they seem to be!

So, what will the outcome be for Mrs Jones and Flump?

In the first week of March 2024, our team of friendly Bin Washers will attend Rose Water Court in Brighton. They will take the empty bins out of the bin store and wheel them over to one of our bespoke bin-washing trucks. The bins will be inverted on the bin lift, jet washed with hot water and sprayed with a long-life deodoriser. The bin store will be cleared of any rubbish, jet washed and also treated with deodoriser. The bins will be returned to the bin store and Rose Water Court will once again smell like an alpine meadow on a summer’s day!

Mrs Jones and her cat Flump will be happy again. Maybe our operatives will be equipped with some Dreamies for Flump, just to make sure he is completely satisfied with our service!

Here at HydroWash, we take bin cleaning seriously. We’re proud to be able to help Mrs Jones, Flump and thousands of other residents and their pets across the UK.
